Broadest choice of the world’s most feature-rich email clients.
You want every user to be maximally productive, but since different users have different needs, this can be challenging. Many employees are accustomed to using Microsoft Outlook as their email client. Others may be partial to Novell Evolution. Often, different employees need to use different desktops. Engineering staff may need Linux, while creative services staff may need to use Mac OS. All of your knowledge workers need browser-based access to their email so they can get it from home, remote offices or anywhere else they happen to be. Some use Firefox, some use Internet Explorer. Some have one desktop OS at the office, and a different one at home.
Other email solutions limit your selection of clients, desktops, and browsers. The Scalix solution is different. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all strategy for business users. We believe you need a broad choice of clients and full flexibility with desktops and browsers in order to make all of your users maximally productive.
Microsoft Outlook & Novell Evolution
The Scalix solution gives you maximum choice in clients, desktops, and browsers. Want to keep Outlook? No problem. Our Outlook connector natively supports MAPI and provides feature-by-feature compatibility with the full range of functionality offered by Outlook. Some of your users want to use Evolution? Sure thing. Our Evolution connector natively supports IMAP and iCal and enables the full range of functionality offered by Evolution.
Wish you had the option of a web client that is fast and full featured? Now you do. Scalix Web Access, our AJAX-based web client, delivers the look and feel, usability and performance of a desktop application. And of course, it works on Windows, Linux, and Mac using either Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Our product also supports any POP or IMAP client such as Mozilla Thunderbird, Eudora and Outlook Express. It natively and transparently supports each mail client’s feature set, user interface and communications protocol, ensuring no end user disruption or retraining. We provide full interoperability between clients, enabling users to work interchangeably between their web and desktop clients for a fully synchronized view of their mail, calendar and contact data.
We also provide services that work across all clients, such as Search and Indexing Services. Built on the open-source Lucene technology, our Search and Indexing Services provide real-time indexing of private and public folder messages and attachments, resulting in sub-second mailbox-wide search and retrievals, even in very large mailboxes and folders.
